Requirements prior to testing
- All windows, doors, door knobs, and thresholds are installed and closed
- Weather-stripping is installed for exterior doors
- No cracked or broken windows (both panes)
- No holes in walls or ceilings
- Electricity and water are on (as if handing over to customer)
- All plumbing fixtures installed, vents sealed, and traps filled with water
- Interior attic access has been properly insulated and have gaskets
- All recessed lights are sealed to the ceiling drywall
- Ensure all exposed ducts are properly sealed
- Upload a blueprint or have one on site
Nobody will be able to enter or exit the home while the blower door test is being ran (approx. 10 minutes)
Allow 1 to 2 hours to perform each test.
*A duct air-leakage test is not required where the ducts and air handlers are located entirely inside conditioned space.
